Abbazia di San Donato
Sesto's old heart
In the centre of Sesto Calende, the Abbazia di San Donato is the oldest building in town: a Romanesque church of early-medieval origin, carried through the centuries with its stone and its columns.
Inside are medieval frescoes of real worth. The most famous is the so-called Madonna of the Lemons: look for it — it's the little treasure the people of Sesto show off first.
